Once I finally got the game to work, I played it for about three hours before switching it off.
#SPLINTER CELL BLACKLIST SETUP.EXE PATCH#
Looking through the patch notes, I find it absolutely humiliating on behalf of Ubisoft that they could have released a product with as many game-breaking issues that needed to be fixed with a patch. It kept crashing every-time I opened the exe and I later discovered this was fixed with a day one patch with a whopping size of 2GB. Upon purchasing the game, I found it actually wouldn't load. I remained optimistic of Blacklist after watching trailers and hearing interviews with the devs claiming they were making the game more stealth-heavy than Conviction. Since then I have watched the decline of the franchise, which IMO began in Conviction, not Double Agent like a lot of other fans claimed.

I have been a Splinter Cell fan since the first game was released on the PC back in early 2000. Overall: good plot, interesting characters, badass gameplay, and nice environments. The environments themselves I liked, even though some were a little too linear. The plot? Good enough excuse to go globetrotting and take down the enemies there.now what the hell 'fifth freedom' is, I need to Google. Like I said above, the mo-cap was great, and while cutscenes did sometimes dip into uncanny valley it was immersive.
#SPLINTER CELL BLACKLIST SETUP.EXE MOVIE#
I liked the action movie style pressure on the situation, and while the characters were essentially the archetypes you'd expect: stern but kind leader Grim, awkward hipster-dressed genius Charlie, and fierce, serious tough guy Briggs (who overlapped with Sam). It was so good, that I barely used Mark & Execute, unlike in Conviction. So many awesome tactics you can go through, it was always nice setting up a plan to take out a group of enemies and methodically going through with it. Played through mainly non-lethal, but I couldn't resist headshotting people from time to time. Great cutscenes, mo-cap, and how you move makes you always feel in control and like a real badass.
